You most likely have a zc motor I believe they came in the early tegs like the 88's with the flip up lights. My cousin had one he used the sohc D16a6 tranny off of a 91 civic si. So you be able to use one with no problem. But I believe if you go with the zc tranny you need teg axles with a half shaft.

yeah ^^^^^^^^ is right. Its a D-series DOHC. But everthing for ZC is the same. the trans axles ,etc. The pistons in the ZC's are pretty good but if you wanted to boost it i would use Suzuki Grand Vitara low compression pistons. Thats a thing thats real big in Puerto Rico. But all motor i would go P29, (not P28), its real high compression and and dome looks like a CTR.

a ZC is totally different than a 88-89 D16 dohc engine.. the engine mounts way different than any other d16

if you have a 88-91 hatch make sure you have a ZC stamp on that engine, if its stamped D16A and is dohc then you wont be able to use it in a 4th gen hatch or rex..
